Ostrava's project to transform the former city slaughterhouse building for the needs of the PLATO contemporary art gallery is a huge success. The work of Polish architect Robert Konieczne and his studio KWK PROMES was selected – as the first ever building in the Czech Republic – among the five finalists of the prestigious European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture 2024 Mies van der Rohe Awards.
