Is it possible to separate the work from the personality of the author? Why did Barthes bury the author? How is the concept of authorship perceived by critics and what does it mean for art with the advent of autofiction? An evening with journalist and literary critic Jan Bělíček.

Jan Bělíček (1986) is the editor-in-chief of the online daily Deník Alarm. He co-founded the website in 2013 and worked as the main editor until 2019. In 2020 he became the editor in chief of this media outlet. He is currently in charge of overseeing the media outputs as well as defining financial and development strategies for the medium. Bělíček studied philosophy and Czech literature at the Faculty of Arts at the Charles University. He writes about politics and culture for mainstream Czech newspapers and media. He is the author of the book V chapadlech murmuru on the relationship between literature and contemporary society. He is also the host of the popular podcasts Kolaps and TL;DR.
